Dear Gary and Mike,
Sending you love and strength as you go through this transition. Jean was a wonderful person and she has now moved on to a great place. Hope you can all get some rest and feel at peace as you move forward. Will be sending prayers, Chris

Dear Barton Family,

Jean and I lived on Burnside Street - she near Blanchard and I in the middle across the road from Joan and Frank Harpster. We graduated in the same class in 1959. I have not seen her since the class reunion of 2009, I believe. I did hear that she was in Centre Crest and experiencing memory loss. I am sorry to hear of her passing. Remember the fun times you had and cherish all those memories.

I was looking for the obituary of another Centre Crest friend, and I saw that Jean had died! I'm so sad! I'm the partner of the man who lived two doors beyond Jean's room. I'm the woman who now lives in that house that you and Jean lived in years ago. Since Allan was moved to another room I've lost contact with that particular hall in Centre Crest and have not been passing by several times every day and looking into the room to see how Jean is doing. I have to deliberately come over and take a look.

And now I look in the newspaper online and see that she is gone!

I didn't get a chance to see you and speak with you.

I'm sitting here crying, because I'm involved in Centre Crest now. The people here matter. And the caring people who come to be with their loved ones matter. Jean mattered to me. And you matter, too. You're the caregiver and so am I. We love these people who are in a nursing home.

We've lost Jean. On the other hand, the suffering is over. I care.

So sorry for your loss, and sorry that Jean's life ended in a difficult state. She was a lovely lady with a sweet nature. I remember her from many years ago.
