Mark D. Werkheiser June 11, 1971 November 9, 2017 Mark D. Werkheiser, 46, of State College, died Thursday, November 9, 2017, at home. Born June 11, 1971, in West Chester, he was the son of George F. and Evelyn M. Bartlett Werkheiser. He was married to Amber Gladfelter Krieg. In addition to his parents and wife, Amber, Mark is survived by his daughter, Sydney A. Werkheiser, of Montoursville; step-children, Caleb A. Krieg,of State College and Chaya R. Krieg, of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Glenn Werkheiser and his wife, Diane, of West Chester, and Robert Werkheiser and his wife, Denise, of Downingtown; and his nieces and nephews who loved him very much. Mark graduated from West Chester East High School, in 1990, and attended West Chester University. He was a massage therapist. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved mountain biking, kayaking, cross country skiing, fly fishing, and hiking with his beloved dog, Luna. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 9, 2017, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College, with Jackie Hook officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a trust for Sydney Werkheiser at M&T Bank, 405 River Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701, in care of Susannah J. Howard. Checks may be made out to Susannah J. Howard. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
