Tom and Carol, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Father. Tom and I were in the same class at SCHS.

Carol and Tom -

I am so sad to learn today of your father's death. I heard of his illness when I called just before New Year's to ask him to meet me for breakfast and Carol answered. I suspect that he did not see the card and note I sent him as he died only a day or two later.

Knowing Ray, and having the joy of performing with him many times, was a gift! We had great times rehearsing and performing and just "hanging out." After I started spending most of my time in New York, we saw each other less often, but did manage to meet a few times at the Waffle Shop. He was in such good shape when we last met in the early fall. I'm so happy that he did not have a long illness and that he was able to do what he loved most right up to the end! I can imagine Ray and Grace Holderman teaming up again on the other side and belting out "Send a Salami" to an appreciative crowd!

My wife, Jeanne, joins me in sending our deepest sympathy.

Carol and Rocco,
Thank you for inviting Glee Club alumni to your Dad's memorial service. My interaction with your family was so brief and fleeting so many years ago, but it was truly a privilege to attend and learn more about such a remarkable man and his family. Your tribute was uplifting, and his legacy is remarkable! (And I will cherish his CD!) God's peace to you and your families.

I was lucky enough to have sung in the State College Presbyterian Chancel Choir with him when I lived in State College. What an amazing man.

Tom, Carol, and family:
I am indeed privileged to have spent many years working with RTF, as he was known in OHR. An inspirational leader and good friend. In addition, we shared a February 5 Birthday.

We'll certainly miss his congeniality. Sincerest sympathy.

With deepest respect for a wonderful and talented man whose memory will live on in the hearts of all of us who had the honor of singing Hail! Oh Hail! in the Penn State Glee Club.

With deepest sympathy, may the power of prayer ease your sorrow, bring you peace and provide much comfort for you during this difficult time. Matthew 21:22

Tom and Carol,
Our heartfelt condolences to you. Mary Jo and I spent many warm, interesting and happy hours in dinner get-togethers with your folks.
Much earlier in life, your dad consoled this then-broken-hearted little boy after his pet duckling fatally engorged itself on the fallen cherries beneath your cherry tree.
A bit later, came your mom's stern lecture to me after I corrected the "stork story" in teaching you, Tom, the true story of the birds and the bees. Do you remember that?
Years and years later, the incident was a source of laughter/joy around the dinner table.
Again, our sincerest condolences.
Jay and Mary Jo Rubin

I enjoyed the warmth and hospitality of the Fortunato's home where I often visited their son Tom, one of my best friends, growing up in State College in the 60s. Even in his later years I enjoyed Ray's musical talent as he tickled the ivories for a musical song and dance duo at South Hill's summer concert series. He will be missed by many.
