As we prepare for our 2018 conference in Nashville, I reflected on my late NHBW, sister Dr. Essie Lucas. She was a pillar in the organization in the Chicago Chapter and at the national level. I was glad I had the opportunity to fellowship with her last year in New Orleans. She will be missed, but her legacy will live on.

Paula my dear you have my deepest sympathy. Your mom was a JEWEL. My name is Linda Bryan-Thompson. I was the secretary of the Ezzard Charles Board of Directors. I did not find out about her passing until yesterday 10/3. I as you are am an only child. No one knows the loss an only child feels with no one to turn to. Look to God he WILL give you the strength to see you through these stormy days. God Bless.
