I didn't know Frank as well as some other people here, but I knew him through being a good friend of my family for many years. From the conversations I had with him, and the stories I heard about him, he seemed like a character, a fun guy to be around, and a really good guy overall.

Frank Tonkovich was an honorable man. He stood up for what he believed in, and encouraged others to do the same. It saddens me that I couldn't personally be there to pay my respect. When Frank spoke of his family, it was always with great pride and love, and it would have been an honor to meet them all. God bless you during this difficult time. You fought the good fight Tonk!

Frank, You were a great friend for nearly thirty years working at the DOC and at McCormick Place on the docks. You always had my back, throughout those years and we always counted on each other at both jobs.
This came as a great shock to me after speaking with you Monday morning and telling me you felt better than you had in some time.
I was supposed to call you on Thursday to relate my intentions on going to the retirees breakfast on Friday. I received the horrible news from your wife on Wednesday.
I hope you understand you will be missed by me and others and I for one will always remember the great times we had on the job and the laughs we shared off the jobs.

Rest in Heaven my friend, until we meet again!

May God Bless Frank and his family. My thoughts and prayers are with Frank and his family.
I've known and worked with Frank for over 30 yrs.
He was a good Man.
