I worked with Dick for many years in my capacity as the volunteer program manager at the Chicago History Museum; Dick skillfully engaged thousands of visitors of all ages from around the globe in our exhibitions (particularly in the print shop in the popular Pioneer Life Gallery), and on the sidewalks of historic Old Town and Lincoln Park where he led numerous tours. A Chicago booster, Dick helped others learn and become proud of our city.

Dick was a true friend and mentor during my years at The Chicago History Museum. His kindness, generosity and quirky good humor taught me so much. Heartfelt condolences to Rita and all of us who benefited from knowing him.

Just as when Charlotte died, I happened to be away when Dick died. They were a delightful couple. Dick became my friend during and after his time volunteering at the Chicago History Museum. He had many friends and stopped by frequently on his walks around the city. He was an avid gardener and pesto chef. He loved his jazz lunch at Andy's and annual trips to New York and San Miguel Allende. We already missed him so much; my condolences to Rita.
