My condolences to the entire Schaub family. I've had the pleasure of knowing Nick since I was a small boy, hanging out with my Dad, Russ Decho, Al Schneider and Nick. First at Bud Novy's, then Dave Boyd's and then @ ILS. My parent's were good friend's with Nick & Marion. Nick's accomplishments are all over the ILS property, he was a hard worker! The 1" scale water tower will always be memorialized to Nick with his Hometown of Cashton, WI printed on the top tower. God bless you Nick, hope your're enjoying seeing all your ILS buddies again! Good Steaming Ahead.

Nick was a great friend and mentor to me during our many years together with Local 150 Operating Engineers. He was a tremendous help in getting my career started there. I will never forget him and wish I could thank him one more time...he and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Nick was one of the founding fathers of the Illinois Live Steamers model railroad club, which is where I first made his acquaintance. I am very sorry to learn of his passing and offer my sincerest condolences to his family.
So long, my friend, and clear boards all the way on that great railroad in the heavens.
