A J was my friend of 40 + years. She was "my Sister in my heart" . I was fortunate to spend a lot of time with her during her last months at home and in the hospital. Some good and others challenging. She never complained. Her middle initial, J, is for Joy and those who knew her realize how appropriate that is because she brought that everywhere she went!

She was family orientated and adored her 10 grandchildren. She often arranged her schedule so she could attend their B-Day celebrations, Irish dancing competitions and sports events. She also shared Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas with them. I was included on many occassions. Thanks to her I travelled with the family to Ireland this past April and then she and I continued on to London.
On December 23rd, I was one of a small group of family and friends present during her final hours on this earth. I held her hand as she moved on to a better place and I can truthfully say that she passed away in peace and surrounded by our love.Thankfully I have wonderful memories of this incredible, generous, intelligent ( a mind like a steel trap) loving, amusing woman who always put others first before her.
As I often wrote in my cards to her "Friends are the Family you choose for yourself"
I will continue to miss her every day of my life. "I love you my Buddy and Pal". Nancy D

I worked for Alison during college breaks and summer. SHe was such a confident, savy businesswomen in a heavily male dominated field. She was a wonderful role model for an impressionable teenager. My sympathies to the family and Mike O"Brien from friend from MArquette.
May she rest in peace.

How sad. I just loved and admired her spunk! She was a successful woman who made it in a man's world and she did it on her terms. I have thought of her often over the past years and know that she will be horribly missed by the lives that she touched!

She was a great mentor!
