This from St. John's September 2017 Eagle (newsletter):
"Our Dorcas family is mourning the loss of Aurelia Burkett, who was a member and a friend of Dorcas
for 50 years. A few of her many talents and contributions to St. John's over the years are:
Aurelia made the banners for the children baptized at St. John's; she was a Sunday School Teacher/
Director here at St. John's for many years beginning the year she was confirmed, and she coordinated
the Coffee Hour for several years. Aurelia was a friend to many and will be missed."

Hi Grammy Roo Roo, you are missed here a whole heck of a lot. Alyce has drawn some pretty awesome pictures of you, and she had a morning picnic today by our photo collage of you. It hurts not to know we can see you here, but I am filled with peace and joy knowing that I will see you again in Heaven! You are with Jesus, I can't even imagine! Have fun, laugh lots, and keep the oven on so we can bake together! Don't worry, I will continue to craft, because we all know my mother won't want to do that (hee hee). Love you grammy!!!

I was just looking at the St. John's website and saw that Mrs. Burkett had passed away, I was so very sad to hear this. I spent so many days and nights of my childhood at the Burkett home, it was always such a welcoming place and I have many fond memories. Being an only child I thought all the action was so much fun. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family on the loss of your mother.

When my own mother died, years ago, you graciously became my new mom I shared with Kendra. I am a blessed man. I love you. Just don't argue with God too much... He is God. And, yes mom, this is Michael.

Your Mom was the kindest woman ever. She would send me birthday cards and remind me of things she did with my Mom before she passed. She will be truly missed.

To the Burkett family, my deepest sympathy. Your mom was a lovely person, positive and cheerful to the end. She was a woman of a deep faith that sustained her during the trials of life.
Just a month or so ago she told me that she could not see well enough to read so she was listening to books on tape and still learning things!
Your mom and my mom, Edith Haveman, were cousins and good friends. Your mom talked to me a lot about the fond memories she had of the good times they had together when they were growing up.
She told me that her first language was German and that Grandma Schroeder wouldn't let her talk when they went shopping because when they were out of the house they could only speak English. Grandma Schroeder said they should be American.
With love, Judith Chapman

I worked with Don in the early 60's in the printing trade.
I picked him up in the morning, worked during the day and back home.
Several time Don, Aurella, my wife Carole and I went out to dinner.
A few years later, I was working for a larger company when I learned Don had passed. I did attend the visitation as we still lived in the area. We just moved back to Wisconsin where our boys live.
This is the 3rd death this June of people I knew from printing.
To the family....Sorry for your lose...
We enjoyed going out with your parents.
Don was the best as my coworker and friend.
