Just learned of Carl's passing with the return of our Christmas card. My condolences to his entire family. I met Carl years ago (around the time of my son's birth) as his insurance-based lawyer, but from that experience grew a wonderful friendship--and an incredible number of lawyer jokes. My dad was an architect and I was able to share a few crazy stories with Carl about that as well! We always shared smiles and his love of his family. I will miss him and my prayers are out there for him and for you.

I am very sorry to hear of the death of Mr. Ramcke. He was an important part of our closely knit neighborhood which felt very much like a community of caring family members. Mr. Ramcke was a hard worker and shouldered many responsibilities in his long life, often seen outside doing yard work, working on the house, preparing the family pop-up camper for family outings. But most significant to those of us sharing life in Forest Hills, ever willing at a moment's notice to help a family in need. He was part of the Fair Elms Street baseball team which played friendly games against other teams in the Forest Hills area. Cheering on the Fair Elms team was a great way to spend a warm summer evening. His generosity, kindness, and care for others will be remembered. My thoughts are with Pam, Carl, and all of the Ramcke family.

Carl was the on site architect of the Alice Millar Chapel on the Northwestern University campus in 1962-63. I was the chapel secretary. I so enjoyed hearing how important the chapel was to Carl and how he envisioned it in the years to come. A kind man.
