Charles "Chuck" George Ekdahl, 77, lost his fight with pancreatic cancer at home in Palos Heights (formerly of the East side of Chicago) on May 12, 2020. Chuck was born on September 21, 1942 in Chicago, IL. Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Kristen. Chuck is survived by his wife Nancy (Leal) Ekdahl, daughter Erica Tekampe, son-in-law Kevin Tekampe, and his adored grandchildren Amelia and Lucas. Chuck was an amazing Husband, Father, Papa, and friend to many. There are many words that describe Chuck, caring, loving, helpful, and a true friend. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, travelling with his wife, Nancy and having meals with his friends.

His life brought all that he met joy. Although his life here on Earth is over, his light will live on in his family, friends, and all that had the honor to know him. There will be a Celebration of Chuck's Life to be scheduled at a later date.

I have many great memories of our playing basketball together....you were one heck of a presence on the court with your height and talent. In addition I have such fond memories of times spent with your Dad drinking that Swedish drink GLUUG....(don't know if spelled correctly!) Chuck you were the BEST. REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND.
MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY Nancy & Erica on your loss.

Though Chuck was only in our lives a short time we feel blessed to have been allowed to get to know him. He was joy filled whenever around and lit up the room with his laugh. You all became our family and we will keep his happy nature nature alive. Forever in our memories. Our prayers to all of you.

Nancy and Erica please accept my deepest sympathy. I have known Chuck just about all my life...even though we lost touch...he was never forgotten. What an AMAZING MAN and FRIEND. I was so very saddened when my brother John called and told me the sad news of Chuck's passing. HEAVEN needed another ANGEL. GOD BE WITH YOU ALL.

Rest in Peace, Chuck. He will be remembered for many things and who he was. He blocked a "lot of shots" on the basketball court when we were young playing with friends and foes in the neighborhood. He will be missed.
