muffin was my dear, dear friend. 49 years. there was no one on this earth, ever, that could make me laugh the way she did. and even tho we had not been in touch in recent years, I know she knew I loved her. eventually we would have reconnected. I am so so sad that will not happen. she is at peace now.

Dear Family of Muffin,

I was so sad to hear of Muffin's passing away at such a vibrant young age. The relationship with our Hales family goes all the way back to when our parents were in grade school together at North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka. And then there was our generation where Muffin and I were in the same class, and Ford was in class with my sister Martha. There were shared birthday parties, and life milestones along the way.

Even though Muffin and I lost touch over the years, she is always in my mischievous heart with memories of us being in a bike accident together one Saturday in 1966 at Joseph Sears School while riding double on her stingray bicycle down the underpass tunnel behind the school. We both had a lot of cuts and scrapes from falling. Plus, Muffin had a sprained ankle and I had a crushed knee, thus knee surgery!

I hope Muffin is at peace and the family will keep all of the best of Muffin in their hearts forever.

Warm wishes to you all,
Cyn (Cinny) Hales
