The Mazer family had great admiration and respect for Ed. It's difficult to pinpoint why but in the end he exuded something unusually positive and good and it was reflected in his athletic prowess. At Birchwood Club you only wanted to see your name matched with him because if you were on the other side of the court you were probably going to get your tush beaten. Even then he was nice. Eddie and I had been friends for over 50 years and he was always there for me. I'm so thankful for everything he did for my family and for my son. I was lucky enough to have had him as a travel companion as we made our way all over the world so many years ago. Eddie was such a dearly loved friend and he will be deeply missed.
