Dear Leisten family,
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful, caring person with this 25 year patient. I can't express how much he will be missed. As one of the first people he told of his illness, I was asked not to say anything. He thought he would beat it and he didn't want to burden people. He loved you all so much, and spoke of you so often I almost felt like you were part of my family. The world has had a major loss. He was one of the very best. May peace be with your family during this trying time.
Sincerely

Beverly Lynn Wolfe

I've been a patient of Dr. Leisten for over 25 years in Oak Park and always thought the world of him. He always asked how are things going as soon as I sat in the chair, and we would talk and catch up for 20 minutes before he would start the appointment. He was always so interested and concerned about me and my problems. I was so shocked when he called to tell me the cancer came back and he expected to die soon, then he apologized for having to cancel my appointment, said he thought about trying to make it in for the appointment, but was in too much pain to get out of bed. That was the last we talked and I've been praying for him ever since. I'm so sad for you, he was a wonderful, caring man and loved his family very much. I hope he is happy and at peace now, and watching over you with love.

I am very saddened to hear this news today. I have the highest respect for Dr Leisten. He not only was a very kind, gentle person, he was a great Periodontist. I saw him in the Freeport office for many years. I could tell by our conversations how much his Family meant to him. Please accept my deepest condolences. Rest in Peace Dr Leisten.

I'm so sorry to hear of Dr. Leisten's passing. While I received notice late last year of the closing of his practice, I assumed that he was retiring after a long career of delivering exceptional periodontic care. My regular dentist, Jim Yee, who referred me to Dr. Leisten twenty-five years ago, informed me that he passed in December. As soon as I had gotten the letter of his practice's closing, I was compelled to send him a thank-you note for the many years that he helped me maintain my oral health through his expert, professional manner. I only hope that he received it before he left us. If he did not, please accept these words of sympathy and thanks from one of his long-time patients. He will be sorely missed.
