Many years ago I began a painting career with the Manaster family and was the fifth person known
by the grandchild because of my daily painting visits. Winter White from Sears was applied throughout the
days both inside and out. Back in that era, college professors perhaps had more mystique or just seemed
to be more educated than the rest of us (I guess they still are). While working outside during the weekend,
Guy was inside his office (I think in the garage) doing what I assumed was "college" work. However he invited
me in and I'm certain we probably smoked a cigarette or two. But he was watching a TV boxing match and
was quite excited about it. Howard Cosell may have been the announcer, the era was right. We conversed
about boxing for awhile and I began to realize that professors were sort of like the rest of us.

I am currently painting the inside of a house for a long time friend and have told these stories about my
painting adventures. Sad to hear of his passing and my sympathy is extended to all of you.

Guy was a wonderfully and uniquely talented and compassionate teacher role model, and a good friend to me four almost 40 years. The last few we had a great time having breakfast together during the holidays when I was in Dallas. He was very caring and willing to share himself with his students colleagues, and friends, all of which will miss him greatly. May the Long time sun shine upon him, Ill love surround him and tell himLong time sun shine upon him, and the pure light within him guide his way on. Carl Anderson
