Mrs. Jackson, David, Linda and Daniel, I am so sorry about Harry. I have great memories of Old Orchard road and your beautiful home. I am sure you have many memories to treasure. Take good care. Ellen Crossland

Nicky I am so sorry. Hal might have had a hole in one but his swing was more memorable than that.

The last time we were together was in Chicago for Jeanette Bitter. You were with family and I think staying with them just outside Chicago. Please express my sympathy and that of Dee's too..

There are a lot of people who would like to see you when you come to Quincy.

Again Nicky I am so sorry.

Dear Jackson Family,

Much like Bruce Subeck, I, too, have fond memories of being around Hal and Nicky.

I recall being called in as a baby sitter one New Year's Eve when I was still in high school. I was a little nervous, but you had confidence in me.

More recently, when I started my Quincy Jewish history project, Hal was able to provide lots of valuable information about the Jackson family based on the work he had done. In this, like in other ways, he was forthright and sympathetic. In that light, according to my calculations, Hal was the last remaining member of the congregation to have any direct connection to the founders of B'nai Sholom, and, that, too, is sad, given the congregation's situation.

Hal was truly a wonderful person who provided a great role model for many people.

May his memory be a blessing.

Dear Jackson family, I always thought of your family as the most wonderful members of our congregation and friends of our family for so many years.

I know you have all had a beautiful family for so many years. If you are ever near Tucson it would be a great pleasure to see you.

I will never forget being around you.

Good wishes and I hope to send a donation to the the Valley of Peace. I just need to figure out how to get it there. I feel so lucky to have been able to see you and be around you and your family so many times.

Sincerely,

Bruce Subeck
Tucson, Az.
