Dear Hantel Family, Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Helen.
She was such a special person and I am sure she will be missed by all of you.
Helen and I met in nursing school back in 1978 and befriended each other then.
We often studied together to pass all the tests and the boards and were successful.
She was such a good friend - a better one nobody could find. We shared our ups and
downs in our lives and our joys and sorrows. Helen was always willing to listen, to help
solve a problem, offer support with whatever, and give sound advice. We loved to have breakfast together or go grocery shopping. In her later years she loved to talk about
all the different experiences she had in her life back to living in Russia, her flight from
there, and all the different places she lives prior to coming to the United States.
Such a passionate, caring, gentle, warm, selfless, dependable, and sincere person.
May she be at peace now and able to rest from all the work she has accomplished. She
certainly deserves it.
I will miss her very much as she was such an important person in my life.
Sincerely,
Christine Hodson

Dear Dr. Hantel,
We wish to express our thoughts and prayers to you and your entire family. I am sure your Mother played a very important role in helping you become the caring and compassionate human being you are. You saved my life almost 20 years ago and the extra time you took in listening and answering important life questions was a definate trait of what your Mother always did for you. I remember you telling me that you went to Lane Tech High School and how you were a big Cubs fan! Well now your Mom can let your Dad in on this Chicago "miracle" that happened last year! But you know what Dr. Hantel? I'm sure your Father had box seats with Ron Santo, Ernie Banks, Harry Carey, and some other former Cubs who finally convinced God that it was time we won a World Series! Your Mom will truly be blessed just for having a son like you, who is always helping others. May God Bless your entire family Dr. Hantel. Michael & Linda Norton
