Jean was one of the first people to welcome me to the neighborhood when I moved there 41 years ago. She was a great neighbor and she taught me so much about caring for animals, particularly a large group of cats who were living outside. I remember hearing her blow that loud whistle when she was trying to locate Paul. She always praised any pet I had (God love her.). I remember how excited she was when she and Paul took on the renovation of the house next door to theirs, and how proud she was showing off the finished house, which was wonderful. I remember her grabbing a baseball bat to go after someone who had walked into her mother's house. She was a power house, particularly behind the wheel of her car. No one was a greater friend to animals in need.

May peace be yours to bring comfort. May you have courage to face the days ahead, and loving memories to forever hold in your heart. May God continue to comfort your family (Psalm 9:9,10).
