The best has been taken from us.

Merry and Scott, my heart goes out to you. Kay made the world a brighter place as she shared her infectious smile and positive attitude every place she went. She was always willing to help others and donate countless hours of service to her community. How in the world she ever put up with us all those sleepovers at your place, Merry, I will never know. I loved getting up early and going upstairs to sit and visit with her around the kitchen table. My favorite memory, and there are so many, was catching her off guard as she carried in groceries from the garage. She lept into the kitchen like a gazelle, singing Tony Bennett at the tops of her lungs as it blasted on her car radio. She was a strong, wonderful woman...a ray of sunshine who will be dearly missed.

It has been a pleasure working together with Kay as part of the Mundelein STAND-UP coalition for the past ten years. I will miss her kindness toward all, her upbeat personality, and, of course, hearing about those delicious pies she liked to bake. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this sad time.

What an upbeat person
She made sunshine for all. Bet she is doing the same on her new journey.
