I'm so sorry for the loss of your dear sister Mary Ellen. Loved her so much , she was beautiful and had a great sense of humor. She surely will be missed! Sad to miss the ceremony but my thoughts and prayers will be with all of you. Fondly, Liz Hanley Van Horn

We have all lost a terrific person when MaryEllen passed away. I went to St. Francis Xavier grade school in Lagrange with MaryEllen. We had tons of fun throughout those 8 years. We had a lot in common, being part of a large Irish Catholic family who loved Art & Literature. She had 8 brothers and 3 sisters. I only had 5 brothers, and 3 sisters, so we shared that rough and tumble lifestyle among the crowd in our parish.
Upon entering high school at Nazareth Academy, MaryEllen and I had our best adventures. We were in a few classes together, but the fun was had mostly was in the lunchroom and in Mary Hall. She was active in the drama department with Sr. Gordon (Mary Kay Kickels), and we did a few skits in the talent shows.
After separate college experiences, we shared adult activities and remained friends. MaryEllen had a wonderful loft full of art and artifacts in the Printer's Row neighborhood where she loved to entertain.
She was an excellent daughter, taking care of both of her parents at the end of their lives. She will be missed, as she was such a vibrant, beautiful soul who enjoyed life to the fullest. She fought valiantly to conquer the cancer which took so much from her. It took her life but not her spirit, as it will survive in all our happy memories of laughter and love. Farewell my friend!

Dear family and friends of Maryellen, I was blessed to know Maryellen during our Nazareth High School years. Maryellen was a beautiful person and like a beautiful and bright candle her life was extinguished much too soon. May you find comfort believing that our loved ones never truly leave us but that the love we shared lives on in our hearts and spirits for all eternity. May God be with you all and may He fill you with His loving peace. Rest in Peace Maryellen.
Sincerely, Marie Antoinette Cison-Hejnal
