I will never forget Gene.
His kind words toward me and his smile touched my soul.
What a pleasure it was to talk with him every morning and to see how he affected the other Panerakeets at "our" table.

Having known Gene for the past 18 years gave me the opportunity to know him really well. Well enough to miss him certainly going forward. However, in retrospect, I am certain he lived a very full wonderful life and accomplished all he set out to do. Business, family, travel, and of course as he is best known as the Apple man of Skokie. No easy task, caring for hundreds of dwarf apple trees, but it was a labor of love. Goodbye dear friend.....for now.
