Hutton William Miller, age 92, passed away peacefully Monday, December 11, 2017, at Oak Trace Retirement Community. Hutton Miller was born in Berwyn, IL on August 22, 1925, to William and Pauline (Scubic) Miller. He married Jean Hinckley in 1950 and settled in Western Springs, IL. He lost the love of his life on November 12, 1986. He is survived by their three children Katherine (Miller) Faust, Steven (Paula) Miller, Bill (Karen) Miller and nine grandchildren: Nathan, Sara, Emily Faust; Samantha (Dave) Riesen, Jaclyn (Scott) Guzek; Morgan, Marcy, Karly and Nicholas Miller, as well as, seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Murray (Nan) Miller and sister Judy (John) Dunn. After graduating from Riverside Brookfield high school in 1943, Hutton joined the Army Air Corps and served honorably for two years to help in the World War II effort. He was an in flight engineer aboard the A-26 Invader. Following his service to his country, he went on to graduate from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana in 1949 where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. "Hut" was a career salesman for several perfume oil companies including UOP International where he worked prior to retiring in 1986. He enjoyed photography and antiquing with his wife. Following the untimely death of his wife he traveled to numerous countries including Australia, Ireland, as well as, cruising the Mediterranean with friends. He had a passion for antique clock collecting and refurbishing the inside and outside of the time pieces. He masterfully restored clocks to their original state for many friends and neighbors. He also held special interests in local history, specifically the Illinois and Michigan Canal where he took many walks studying the towns and countryside it traversed. A private service will be held on Friday, December 15th.

Met Hutton once, early 90s when he came to East Calder, Scotland to visit my late father, George Leitch Miller. Sadly my father had passed in 1988. Lovely man, I remember him well. Would love for any successors to get in touch. Janice Miller.

I'm sorry to see that your father died. I met him during the summer of 2002 when he lived across the hall from my mother at what was then called Fairview Village. My mother's health was declining and my sister (in PA.) and I (in VA.) took turns staying with her from June 2002 until her death on Sept. 27, 2002. Your Dad was a tremendous comfort to me during this difficult time. I've stayed in touch with him for the last 15+ years. He was a good man and I will miss him. Sincerely, Sandra Erksa
