Charles Yamao Hanano, native of Kohala, Hawaii; WWII Veteran, awarded Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star; retired bookkeeper; passed away peacefully on Sept. 27, 2013 (his 89th bday) in Chicago. Survived by brother Akio (Kay) Hanano of Kula, Maui and many nieces and nephews all over the United States. Private interment at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe Hawaii.
