Kenneth Wayne Watson, formerly of Oak Park, IL passed away on November 23, 2017, at home surrounded by family in Cary, North Carolina. Kenneth was born in Oak Park, IL on February 22, 1938. He was the son of the late Vernon and Ethel Watson of Oak Park. He was a graduate of Oak Park-River Forest High School. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, Ken worked as an apprentice electrician, and then at Brigance Chevrolet in Oak Park as a Fleet Sales Manager for 10 years. He went on to manage the warehouse for J. H. Lehnen Plumbing and Heating Supply Co. until 1984, and finished his career working for Benjamin Moore & Co. before retiring in 1997. He was preceded in death by his parents,four brothers; Robert, Charles, Curtis, and John, and by his wife of 51 years, Sandra (Jackson) Watson. He is survived by his sister, Carol (Harry) Armes, three children; Debbie (Paul) Edwards of Downers Grove, Bonnie (Simon) Taylor of Cary, NC, and Kenneth Jr. (Michele) of Oswego. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Rebecca (David), Robert (Kelley), Rachel, Hannah, Tim, Maxwell, and Kevin. A private memorial service and interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Lung Association would be appreciated.
