Sorry to hear of Rich's passing, I have many fond memory's of him from ECC, U of I, going to drill with him when I was attending Army NCO school at Glenview NAS, our rides up from U of I on drill weekends, and hanging out after school. I wish we would have stayed more in touch in later years... He lives on in my memory of him and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

We are so very sorry to hear of Rich's passing. We had so much fun in the car club and our trips to the British Virgin Islands. My heart is a bit heavy today learning that Shelby has passed. He was so much fun to be around. My deepest sympathies to his family.

I also had the honor of working with Rich in the Rota 0169 unit - he was part of an amazing group of Chief's there. When I made Chief, he had some great advice for me that I have passed on to others and still use today. He was just that kind of guy - looking out for others, and always there to lend an ear. He will be missed by many, and our Chief's Mess in heaven just got one of the best.
