Ron, not a day goes by that you are not missed. A lot of our family members are with you now and all are truly missed. Easter is just around the corner and I will once again try to recreate some of moms magic. Rich has memory problems or he would be writing his messages to you as he did throughout the years. Ron, things are getting really bad down here so put in a good word with the powers in charge for us. (I still remember your 2 till Lou or 5 till Ben requests) Love you always and forever

Ronnie we love and miss you. Here is a picture of happier times together(1962)
Every day we think of Mom and you and for a brief moment a smile crosses our face. Although our memories bring us happiness they are soon replaced by sadness because you both are gone. Oh how we miss Mom and you. We wish so much that you both were here. Please give Mom our love.
Remembering Mom on Mother's Day
Mom loved us no matter what. We mattered to her. As we look back on our life we find ourselves wondering . . . Did we remember to thank Mom for all that she had done for us? For all of the times she was by our side to help us celebrate our successes and accept our defeats? Or for teaching us the value of hard work, good judgment and the courage to pick ourselves up and go on? If we had forgotten to express our gratitude, Mom, we are thanking you now and we are hoping that you've known all along, how very much you were loved and appreciated.
Happy Mother's Day in Heaven

November 2nd, All Souls Day
Today we remember in prayer those we love and admire who have passed. Our faith tells us that one day we will be united with God and all those who have died. Let us turn our hearts and minds to God in petition for the repose of their souls through the intercession of St. Jude.
St. Jude you give us hope in the face of loss and sorrow. I pray that you will guide all souls to the light of Christ. May the hope that you offer be a source of comfort to all those who grieve. For in that hope and through our faith, we experience God's tender mercy, and trust His promise of eternal life. Stay by our side, St. Jude, so that we may always rely on your care. Amen.
May the souls of Father Pat, Ronald Gemelli and all the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

A time to grieve ….. it broke our hearts to see Ron pass. We all missed his telephone call this Christmas. Ron's calls were the 1st greeting that each of us would receive on Christmas and Easter Holidays. God had prepared a place in heaven for Ron and wanted to relieve him from this cancer suffering. This Christmas, Ron was preparing to “Going Home”.
Ron knew that he would never get well; the pain and nausea levels were becoming unmanageable. Without much food & drink, Ron was losing his strength to stay any longer with us. In his final days with us, Ron became apprenhensive toward us. He did not have or know the words to comfort us. He wanted to tell us that he could no longer sustain this suffering pain; he wanted us to let him go. Neither Ron nor we were able to say Good Bye to each other for the last time. In our sadness, “ Good Bye, Ron … we love you too .... keep us in your prayers.”
Although our daily prayers, novenas, and petitions before the blessed Sacrament for Ron's healing from Liver Cancer were unanswered by Jesus ……. Jesus did hear our petitions; He answered by bringing Betty and Fr. Pat to visit Ron. Soon here, and with some effort, Fr. Pat and Ron were praying together for Ron's spiritual healing. Before, saying their final farewell, Fr. Pat did hear Ron's confession. Jesus forgave Ron's sins by His Agony and Suffering on the Cross. Jesus blessed Ron with his eternal spiritual healing.
On January 26th, Jesus called Ron to come home. He relieved Ron from his bodily pains and suffering. He opened His oceans of Divine Mercy and sent Ron on his God Given eternal journey to heaven. When Ma sees him coming; her 1st words to him could be ….. “Well done Son, you made me proud”. Ma will rein-troduce him to his younger brother, Donald John. Donald John was born on August 26, 1941 and died on April 26, 1943.
Ron was special, he came into the light of this world by being born at home, 302 S. Leavitt St. and passed from us into his eternal birth also from home. Ron was born in the 2nd floor rear bedroom of Grandparents Gemelli's home. Once here, he found that he had a very large loving family…. There was Mom, Dad, Great grandparents, grandparents, two brothers and a sister too. There were many more aunts and uncles too. In a few years, Ron had a younger sister, Rose Marie, and brother, Donald John. He became their older brother by birth.
Much later, he found his true and loving wife, Marge. They had their family at the Octavia St. home. January 26th, he passed from us with his wife Marge and son Angelo at his side at home. Ron was a loving husband, wonderful father, and proud grandpa to Jack, Allison, and Ronnie III.
This pain of grieving will be ending in time. Seeing the photo displays at the wake, reminded of the more happier days of Ron in our lives. That is what Ron wanted us to remember, memory of good times …good times with the family. We heard in Putts' letter to Ron's family .… not only were Ron and he best friends ….. Putts told us of the time that they were working as bricklayer laborers that Ron's was paid double time if he would run pushing his wheel barrow throughout the day. Ron performed this task and received double pay for the day. He asked his boss if he could receive double pay next day by repeating this task. His boss said, “no way”. He knew that Ron was good worker, it was his way of rewarding him that day for his 150% work efforts. Putts' memorial of Ron told another incident after he was married and living with his new wife in a high rise downtown. The newly weds invited Ron for dinner. He shocked them by doing pushups on the outside window sill of their apartment; they were living on the 22nd floor of this high-rise apartment building.
I know that we can remember many more memories of Ron that would bring joy to us during this grieve period. Do you recall the time that Ron and an air-force buddy drove home in his 1950 Oldsmobile from Minnesota –South Dakota region without a windshield? They traveled in the late evening to avoid receiving traffic tickets from operating a vehicle without a windshield. What a sight they were, they were covered with bird feathers, bugs, moths, etc. all over their faces and upper bodies. Before feeding them a midnight supper, Ma had them take baths. From photos at Ron's wake, seeing him at the weigh-in and brief entry into Golden Glove Fighter qualification rounds; a time when he was in well body condition ….. photos of his race car driving at O'Hara Speedway in the 60's …. his everlasting smiles.
January 30th we could sense Ron and our belated family present with us at St. Priscilla Church at his funeral service, the church was decorated in Christmas Festival. A large Nativity scene, many beautiful red and white poinsettias plants, and lighted Christmas trees adorned the altar. Ron rested in-state at the foot of the altar. It could not have been more beautiful ; I shall always remember this memorial. Christmas for Ron …. Ron loved Christmas. This was Ron's good bye message to us. “A Belated Merry Christmas to My Family and Dear Friends …. I am free from pain …. I Love You Too.” Let's continue to keep Ron and our deceased family members and friends in our prayers along with our petition prayers for our own needs. Our own mortality is drawing near, it's only the memories of us that they will remember when our life is done. Let our accomplishments, struggles/setbacks …. our Christian acts of charity and how we treat others shall be good memories and examples for those family members that we are leaving behind. Pray that God will also be preparing a place for us and our own family members.
Love and God Bless,
Bob
You are loved, missed, and thought of often.

He was something special, like he used to say, an "icon"…. I can also add, a really good guy.
The greatest compliment you can pay a person is to say that that he is your best friend…Ron was my best friend and I was his best friend… He was best man at my wedding and I was his also…. We met when we were about 13 and became best friends..60 years ago...to say he was a wild guy would be an understatement….
he was the toughest guy I have ever known. He loved doing crazy things. Sometimes he was in 2 or 3 fights a day… and I never saw him lose!.. The word gemelli is Italian for twins..I think the guys who lost to him must have thought there were two of him!
His favorite two words were..... "watch this!"
There are hundreds of Gemelli stories that you will hear about today here are a few
Once I was working nights and free all day..Ron was a laborer for a masonry company and he got me a job working with him. One day at lunch the boss showed up and as a joke he told Ron that if he spent the rest of the day running with the wheelbarrow, he would give him double time.. Ron did just that the rest of the day and he got the double time! Then Ron asked the boss if he could do it again the next day..boss said no!
And another Gemelli story that to this day still gives me the shivers...My wife and I had just gotten married and moved downtown into a high rise apartment on the 22nd floor. We had invited Ron to dinner...he knocks on the door and comes in..pushes past me and goes to the window, opens it, and crawled out and starts doing chin ups on the window sill….22 stories above Michigan Ave! When we got him back in it took us all 10 minutes to get our hearts started again.
He was a man of dedication… no matter what he did...he always gave 150%. He was devoted to his family...especially his wife - the woman he lovingly called "Saint Marge"... his kids Ronny, Angelo and Colleen..his brothers and sisters, and his Mom Sally .. he adored all of them.
He was extraordinarily good at his work (driving heavy equipment)…he excelled at running a front loader...they called him Smoooothy!
He was just an ordinary guy unless you knew him – then you loved him. I moved out to Arizona but we kept in touch. It seemed like he mellowed..just a little..when he came to visit us!
But now he is gone and we are all left with very cherished memories…memories that I wouldn't trade for anything. A guy this special doesn't come around that often. I 'm glad I knew him and had his friendship...
RON I WILL MISS YOU BUDDY...

In Loving Memory of Ronald A. Gemelli
I wish Heaven had a phone
so I could hear your voice again.
I thought of you today,
but that is nothing new,
I thought of you yesterday,
and days before that too.
I think of you in silence,
I often speak you name.
All I have are memories
and a picture in a frame.
Your memory is a keepsake,
from which I'll never part.
God has you in His arms,
we have you in our heart.

Words can never express the sadness that we feel for Uncle Ron, AKA THE KING. We remember how full of life he was and the joy and laughter he brought to everyone around him. I will forever cherish the memories of our time together. My heart goes out to the entire Gemelli family. May the angels surround him and you. He will be forever in our hearts as a loving husband, father, brother, grandpa, uncle, nephew and most of all our friend. Rest in peace Uncle Ron. We love you always and forever!!

Aunt Marge, Ronnie, Colleen, Angelo, Stacy, Allison, Ronnie, Jr, Brian and Jack,
Please know that we all love you and are thinking of you during this difficult time. Please know that we loved Uncle Ron so very much and will miss him terribly!
We know that he is watching over you and will always be there right at your side. And when it hurts the most, know that he has his arms around you, that he is sending all his love, keeping you save and giving you strength.
"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."
Uncle Ron, please know that even though we haven't seen you much throughout the later years, we always loved you and have a lot of wonderful memories that will never fade.
I am so very glad that we made you laugh so hard when you came into the hallway and saw all of us kneeing with our noses against the wall at Ronnie's and Stacy's wedding - that laughter will echo in our hearts forever!
"We know you are looking down on us, with a smile on your face but know that you left a hole inside our hearts that no one can replace."
All our love!
