Thinking of the family and wishing them comfort
March 25, 2020
Ron has been a tremendous person. Since 1978, I knew Ron through my labor relations role at Jewel-Osco. I have admired and respected Ron because of his true dedication to workers, real concern for people, honesty and pragmatism. Ron always put the interests of people above everything else. When you think of his 60 years of service to workers, he has literally served the needs of hundreds of thousands of Chicagoans. Ron truly cared about people, helped whenever possible and vigorously advocated on their behalf. Ron had integrity. When Ron agreed upon something, you could count on it. Ron was pragmatic and this enabled many companies to be successful and provide work improvements for hundred of thousands of people during his career. In short, I loved Ron as a person and I admired his advocacy for his union members. I have been blessed knowing Ron and extend my deepest sympathy to his family. Sincerely, Tom Walter
