I remember Mrs. Howenstein... She was a GREAT person that ALWAYS treated the neighborhood kids very well... I remember the Lionel train under the Christmas tree and the Ginger Snap cookies Mrs. Howenstein would make every year; she would always give us some to take home as well... I remember Johnny's birthday was November 3rd, the matchbook collection on the walls going down the stairs into the basement, her Oldsmobile Delta 88, the BIG chair in the family room and their old phone number which was 729-0329... I must have called the Howenstein home a zillion times back in the 70's. I am saddened to hear of her passing... May Mrs. Howenstein rest in peace... God love her... Harry Gio and Family

Shirley was one of the nicest people I've ever met. I was always amazed at her non-stop outreach of spreading "sunshine" to the local vets in the hospital. I looked for her every year at the Memorial Day parade. My heart goes out to her family. She will be missed!
