Beloved husband of Angeliki "Kiki", nee Founta; loving father of Amanda Stamelos (Kris Roberts), Dr. George and Rebecca Stamelos; devoted son of the late George and Kanela, nee Gelis, and dear brother of Dr. John (Evelyn) and the late Dr. William Stamelos; fond uncle, cousin and friend of many. Dear Kiki and family,
I just heard about your husband’s and father’s passing and was greatly saddened. I feel a great loss in my heart.
Spiros was one of those rare generous medical professionals who has helped more people than any one of us will ever know. He certainly helped me and my family at critical moments, and for that, I will always be grateful.

My family and I would like to express our deepest condolences for the loss of your husband and father, to you and your entire family. If there is ever anything I can do to help, please feel free to let me know.

Angeliki, please accept and extend to your family our deepest sympathy. We knew Spiros as a childhood friend while students at Agassiz Elementary School in Chicago. Even then, he worked in his father's grocery store and attended St. George Church on Sheffield. We were classmates throughout high school at Lane Tech, but lost touch after graduation. Much later I happened to see his name on a doctor's office shingle on Lincoln Avenue. I stopped in, and we had a great time renewing our friendship. We we saddened by this sudden news of his passing.
