I can never forget what happened when I first came from Italy. A bunch of friends were horsing around along the Lake Michigan shoreline where there's a deep drop off. Dominic Rana pushed me in. I grew up in a town where nobody swam and was going under. Vito dove in, with his talent developed in the harbor at Mola, and fished me out. A thing like this is not easy to forget. I will never forget Vito.

Vito was a decent man. He was a humanist.

I will miss him, and every time I READ about a new scientific discovery, I will think of him. When I recline at the Planetarium he will be there in thought.

Uncle Vic, I look forward to joining you in the stars.

Uncke Vic,
My how I loved to watch you and Aunt Shirley dance - so graceful and strong, gently leading. I didn't realize it then but I believe you two danced the Vietnese Waltz of Life. You knew my love for science and the Italian culture always encouraging me to pursue my passions in both. I still have the video you sent me some years ago of Italian tourism. When my feet do land in your homeland, I will recall the special moments and knowledge you shared with me; this I am sure. You are respected, loved and adored by so many...you will be missed but your impact on this world endless...

Uncle Vick was my inspiration to have a great career, and a retirement. Most of all, he always showed so much love for his Family. He was not only an example for my career and retirement, he was also there as a Father figure.
