I remember Dr. Banzhaf as a kind-hearted teacher throughout my Ob/Gyn residency at Northwestern almost 20 years ago. He was one of my favorite attendings. So sorry to hear of his passing. I hope the knowledge of how many lives he touched is comforting to his family and friends, especially as the holiday season approaches.

Thank you so much for sharing Bill with our family. He was my physician for 30 years and will be greatly missed. Heartfelt sympathy from our family to yours. With love & prayers, Lyn & Steve Petersen and our four children

What a wonderful person and a great doctor. He brought both of our children into this world. Our second child was an emergency delivery and he saved her life. Our thoughts and prayers our with his family.

Your husband was with my husband and me on our two best days ever and our worst day. As its written, Dr. Banzhaf was the most understanding and brilliant doctor. My eldest son is 27 years old and my youngest son is 22. Our twins would have 26 years old. I didn't think I could live through another loss but didn't want only one child. Dr. Banzhaf made it clear there was no reason to believe I couldn't have a healthy pregnancy after losing our twin boys. I showed my son his picture tonight and told him but for this man I may never been brave enough to try again to have you. A major complication occurred iduring his birth and I'll never forget how he saved my son. It's hard to imagine he is not here to deliver and save other families. He was the gold standard and I grieve for him and your family. Stay brave.
