WALTER H. SCHURR
Walter H. Schurr born October 24, 1919 in Sacramento, unexpectedly passed away June 7, 2010 at Oroville Hospital. A long time Oroville resident, Walt served in the United States Marine Corp with an honorable discharge in 1946 and later worked in the lumber industry with many years at the High Sierra Mill.
Walt is predeceased by his wife, Alice; his brothers Morris and John Schurr, and sisters Gladys Perkins and Frieda Davis. He is survived by his sister-in-law Vera Schurr, his nephew Michael (Linda) Schurr, all of Dayton, Calif.; niece Joyce (Albert) Espinosa of Tucson, Arizona, nephew Harold (Penny) Corkin of Oroville, Calif.; and step niece Billie Jean Tillotson of Quincy, Calif. He also leaves numerous great-nephews and nieces.
Walt was well loved for his support and devotion to his family and most especially, to the love of his life, his late wife of 52 years, Alice. Walt absolutely adored his wife and greatly appreciated the care and support Oroville Hospital gave to both him and Alice over the years. Walt had a great fondness for long nature walks; particularly regularly walking to the Lake Oroville Dam. He will be sincerely missed by family and friends.

I am quite saddened to read that Walt has passed on. I never knew him, but I worked with Alice for many years at Pac Bell in Chico. Alice spoke so fondly of Walt that I felt I knew him. Alice and I kept in touch until she passed away, and I miss her friendship. My sympathy goes out to the family. Virginia D. Root-Rose
