Bernice M. Bland
CHILLICOTHE: Bernice M. Bland went to be with her Lord on May 12, 2016. Bernie, along with her husband Bob, led numerous groups of teenagers on work and evangelistic projects worldwide and made three trips around the world. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She ran the food warehouse for Teen Missions and taught cooking for teens traveling all over the world.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Miles Roscoe Bland, Merritt Island, Florida, Daughter, Cathy Lynn Bland Stringer and husband Randy, Grove City, Pennsylvania, son, Robin Ray Bland and wife Maxine of Cocoa, Florida sister, Esther Goldsberry and brother Jim Elliott of Chillicothe, grandchildren are Joshua Robert Stringer, Tara Brene Bland Brozman, Catherine-Noel Bland Stringer Schultz and two great-grandchildren Joel Robert Brozman and Sophia Noelle Schultz.
She was proceeded in death by three brothers, Richard Elliott, Walter Elliott and Earl Elliott and four sisters, Mabel Laurman, Ethel Hyer, Alice Elliott, and Retha (Fishy) Wheeler as well as a grandson, Joel Ray Bland.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, 16 May 2016 at the Mt Tabor Christian Church, Chillicothe, Ohio with Rev. Howard Vanderpool, officiating. Burial will follow in Gibson Family Cemetery, Alma, Ohio.
Friends may call at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME from 5 - 8 p.m. on Sunday and from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at the church on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to AIDS Orphans and Street Children, 885 East Hall Rd., Merritt Island, FL 32953. Please use www.teenmissions.org for online donations.

She was an inspiration to me, overtime I met her she welcomed me with a big hug. She was a great cook, always enjoyed her meals. Her love for the Lord was so evident in her life from the first day I met her. Bernice and Bob Bland's love and sacrifice for the Lord made me come to the Lord. Thank you for Teen Missions and for the many hundreds of thousands that have come to the Lord through it. Continue resting in eternal peace from the Lord Jesus whom you so passionately served. Bernie was a wonderful Christian, leader and mother who will be greatly remembered for her great love for teens, street children and orphans.
