John Wayne Blackburn
PEEBLES: John Wayne Blackburn, of Latham Ohio, went to be with our Lord on August 12th, 2016, with his family by his side. John was born on July 7, 1959 in Buchanan Ohio, to the late Edison Ray Blackburn and Esther Leeth Blackburn. John was united in marriage on September 1, 1984, to Jacque Leeth Blackburn, who survives. Also surviving are his two sons, Brent Bowles, Heath and Kelsey Blackburn. Grandchildren, Sierra and Donn Bowles, and Weston Wayne Blackburn. Brothers, Tom, Ed (friend Lisa Scowden), Jim (Jenny), and Ronald (Cassie) Blackburn. Sisters, Sharon (Hank) Lewis, Norma Nemec, Pat (Ernie) Legg, Lynn (Roger) Lambert, Esther Coulson, and Lora (Wayne) Grooms. Close nephews, Gary (Jenny & Garrett) Legg, and Todd (Mickie) Crabtree. Along with many more nieces & nephews. Also surviving is a father-in-law, Robert A. Leeth, and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law. Preceded in death by his parents, mother & daddy Blackburn, mother-in-law Joyce Leeth, and brother-in-law Bob Nemec. John was a Western High School graduate, class of 1977. He was an employee of Sargent's Do It Best in Waverly. He was also an active member of Smith Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union. John was an avid hunter, and made countless wonderful memories with many loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 15, 2016 at Smiths Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union with Pastor Jon Wisecup officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Gardner Cemetery. Friends may call 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the Botkin Hornback Funeral in Waverly and 10:00 A.M. till the time of service Monday at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in John's name to the Adena Cancer Center 4435 St. Rt. 159, Chillicothe, OH 45601.

I made a friend during his treatment. He loved to tease me and I enjoyed teasing him. He fought the fight and now is at peace. My sympathies to Jacque and family.
