Saundra S. Montavon
CHILLICOTHE: Saundra S. Montavon, 74, died unexpectedly at 4:08pm July 14, 2016, at the Adena Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 17, 1942, in Kingston, OH to the late Frank H. and Mary Robertson Peters. On September 11, 1965, she married Paul J. Montavon, Jr., who preceded her in death May 19, 2002.
She is survived by her son, Paul J. Montavon III, of Chillicothe; sisters Mary Ann Stranathan, of Mayfield VIllage, OH and Sarah "Sally" Scott, of Columbus; a niece Natalie Fisher, of Hilliard; and a nephew Christopher (Jenny) Fisher, of Powell, OH.
Saundra was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1959, and worked as a registered nurse. She worked at the former Ross County Medical Center, Westmoreland Place and later retired from Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health in 2008. She also worked with the Red Cross and in home health. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 27, at 2:00pm at St. Peter Catholic Church, Rev. Sean Dooley Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 12:30 until 1:30pm at Haller Funeral Home.

It saddens me deeply to hear this news as I return from vacation. Saundra was such a sweet lady that I will surely miss seeing. Despite her trials she was ALWAYS cheerful!!
