Homer Harrison "Butch" Martin, Jr., age 72, Hernando, FL passed away April 26, 2025 at home under the loving care of his family and Vitas Hospice. "Butch" was born in Jeffersonville, IN on January 28, 1953 to the late Homer and Bobbie (Lay) Martin and spent the majority of his life in Citrus County.
He was educated in the Citrus County School system and graduated from Citrus High School. He also attended the Central Florida Community College.
Butch was employed as a Lab Technician for Florida Power Corporation for over 30 years and worked at the Anclote, Suwannee, and Crystal River plants. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, riding his motorcycle and racing go karts. After his retirement, he became a home inspector and locksmith. Some of his other interests were NASCAR racing, fishing, and photography.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Victoria "Vicki" Martin; his children, Kara Bennett and her husband Bret of Inverness, Joel Martin and his wife Kristina of Inverness; his brother, Robert Martin and his wife Lara of Odessa, TX; his grandchildren: Regan, Kyrsten, Joel Jr, Maggie, Will, Ethan, and Evan. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Martin in February of 2025.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Reneau of Cornerstone Baptist Church officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 PM until the hour of service.

My brother Earl was his sister's Patty's first husband. Butch and I went through school together. He was was always a wonderful person. So sorry for your loss Vicki and the rest of the family.
