Susan Stuart Nadeau (Lyman), of Inverness, FL, passed away on April 25, 2025 in Ocala, FL. Born in Springfield Massachusetts, the only child to Paul F. and Gertrude E. Lyman of East Longmeadow, MA. Susan's formative years took place during the 2nd World War. This set the stage for what was important and how Susan would live her life.
Upon graduating from Greenfield High School, Susan joined the United States Navy and served her country honorably and proudly as a Medical Assistant. This experience led to her lifelong career in medicine as a Registered Nurse at numerous central Florida hospitals. The lives of so many were touched by her calm demeanor and caring, capable hands. Susan moved to Seminole, Florida in the early 1970s and relocated to Inverness in 1983.
Susan was a fixture at health care facilities and home healthcare, well into her 70s. She loved helping others in need. This extended to her strong faith in God, teaching and helping others how to find solace and peace through faith. Susan studied the Messianic Jewish faith, as well as all faiths, and was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom, Beverly Hills, FL. She loved camping and being immersed in nature, feeling a profound and joyous spiritual connection to all living things. Susan lived a full rich life in service of family, friends and those in need. She will be greatly missed.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Joseph Nadeau, sons Paul D. Rich, James A. Nadeau and Michael R. Nadeau. Susan is survived by a daughter, Amy S. Mathis (Ray) of Seminole, Florida, and sons David A. Rich Sr. of Vail, AZ and Stephen F. Nadeau (Jennifer) of Ocala, Florida. In addition, Susan is survived by ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
