Your presence has graced this world through 35,464 sunrises. Did you ever imagine that? Across the arc of 97 years, you touched countless lives, influencing each through unconditional love, great good humor, classic style, and insightful wisdom.

Along the way, you lived always from your convictions, inspiring us to embrace the wisdom of acting with love, learning from history, exploring the wonders of nature, thirsting for knowledge, opening our hearts and minds through travel, and rolling with the punches always!

As we commend your generous spirit to the heavens, know that you cultivated joy during your time among us, leaving this world a richer place.

Rather than saying farewell, we pledge to invest our lives in the important lessons you have so joyfully taught us. We will,

Keep on keepin on!

Dear Kevin and Jim, Your mother was always so kind to me! I have so many special memories of her from childhood adventures on Pelee Island and hunting for geodes, to staying with your parents in Cincinnati when I attended a conference and watching our boys play as babies! Betty was a wonderful woman: smart, generous, always interested in people and learning something new! I will miss her, but feel blessed to have known her!

Dear Kevin, Jim & Family,

I know that right now there is a great emptiness left by your mom's passing. But also a rich fullness of memories we all have of her incredible life that will last a lifetime.

I have been blessed with knowing you & Jim for almost all of my 63 years. It was truly a great day when our mom's met walking us in the neighborhood. A lifelong friendship not just between us but our parents as well would be born that day.

I will forever love Betty, as she was always my second mom. I loved her unbelievable patience and mild manners, but also her sense of adventure and never ending quest for new experiences. What an incredible combination she imparted to us! I'll never forget the time we convinced her to swing on that great (Tarzan) vine we had found back in the woods. I can still see her standing on the log, lifting her feet and swinging out 30 feet and back. That memory says it all and sums up everything I love about Betty and her astonishing life.

Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come.

Love Always,
Chick
