I went to North Avondale School with Lynne Sterne. Her Mother, Bobbie, was our Girl Scount and Brownie leader. I have such fond memories of Mrs. Sterne that go back probably 63 years. I admired her as a child and certainly later in my life when she became Mayor of Cincinnati! I was so proud of being in her "troops". When it was time to sell Girl Scout Cookies....my favorite time...our troop stored the cookies in our extra large garage and we did our best to try and out sell the other troops...for Mrs. Sterne! Such happy carefree fun days with her as our leader. May she rest in peace!

My deepest condolences to Mrs. Sterne's family. I'm sure she was happy to be with her loving family during her last years.
When Bobbie Sterne was mayor of Cincinnati, she came to our apartment on a Sunday afternoon and married my husband and me. I'd met her through her association with my employer, the late Leonard M. Sive who worked with her on the Cincinnati Charter Committee. He had great respect for her, and so do I. Loved seeing the photo of her when she was a nurse in the W.A.C. during W.W.2. She has touched the lives of so many people through all the wonderful work she's done. Cincinnati was very fortunate to have her as mayor.

I met Mrs. Sterne through the late Jim Edgy and had the pleasure of inviting her to speak to a couple of my classes at UC. In both classes a student asked her if she had further political aspirations and both times she quickly answered, No, I only want to serve Cincinnati. After a brief pause both times, she then continued, Now, if someone were to appoint me to the U.S. Senate I would certainly accept. She made our city a better place to live. Imagine what she could have done for our country!
