You were such a great father, husband, and grand father.... I'm so glad that I got to know you and your family as growing up as a teenager until now..... You, Janie, and Valerie has always been like family to me...You will be truly missed......

If only these walls could talk, oh the stories they would tell about Pappaw. My very favorite memory of Pappaw was when I was in elementary school. Nick, Jason and myself were sitting on the back porch with him as he begins describing his heroic encounter with a 7 foot rattlesnake. He goes into detail about how he wrestled it to the ground and described how it tried to kill him, but he was way stronger than that rattlesnake would ever be. I'm not sure how old I was when I learned he was telling a tall tale. Pappaw was the king of tall tales.

Another fond memory is when Pappaw and Jason were goofing around with a toy talking bird on Christmas. Jason was very little, and did not find the bird funny, but oh boy...Pappaw sure found it funny to watch Jason get upset with the bird. Pappaw really could find humor in everything.

Every single time I talked to Pappaw, he told me how proud he was of ,e, and how he tells everyone he knows about his granddaughter Heather. I'm not sure if it was true, but it sure made me feel special. Pappaw was good about making you feel special.
