Ed Fritsch taught me a lot about about plumbing, carpentry and life. He was as honest as the day is long. He always had a smile and a joke to share. He talked about his family with pride. Even Harry! (Just kidding Harry, may have hung around Ed a little to much.)

Ed loved you all. He was proud of you all. He talked about his family whether it be accomplishments on the softball field, at school, or a new job.

One of the things that I learned from Ed was that sometimes you have to take a break, consider the different options, and think before you proceed. I am now able to fix a split in a water line, change out the mechanical fill/float in a toilet, and use a saws-all with confidence. Skills that if done improperly can cause a big mess quickly.

Ed was one of the strongest people that I have ever met. He worked hard and long hours. He worked standing, sitting, kneeling, and laying on his back under a sink. He never complained.

He saw the good in everyone. He was a positive example of how to live life. He was enjoyable to be around. He was available to help anyone who needed help. He loved life.

Ed loved to coach. He talked about coaching in Newtown. He took time out of his life, so that kids could have a better childhood. So that kids could have something to be proud of. Ed gave them that.

I will miss Ed. I am sorry to be out of town for his funeral. I am sorry that I will not be able to tell his family and friends what a wonderful guy Ed was. Please let them know for me.

I loved Ed Fritsch. I was lucky to have known him. Rest in peace Ed.
