It has been a privilege to know Jim Miller through my role as editor of the Rainbow Division Veterans Foundation newsletter, REVEILLE. He was a wonderful writer and his memoirs were serialized several years ago in our publication. His service in the 42nd Infantry "Rainbow" Division, Company F, 242nd Regiment will be honored in our WWII Memorial File in the National Meeting next month and in our next REVEILLE in October.
Respectfully and with sincere condolences to his family and his friends.

I don't know that we could have asked for better neighbors and lifelong friends. Jim and Elsie, or Mr. and Mrs. Miller and Jeremy and I always called them, were kind souls who dearly loved everyone around them. Mr. Miller always beamed with enthusiasm when we would come and visit even over Panera and would never be shy about dropping his opinion about current political happenings. I will remember fondly: his garden, his red Datsun, his crazy brown lawn that would turn a rich green, his cigar boxes of airplane parts, his consistent haircut for all 43 years I knew him, his eulogizing my dad, his laugh, his smile, and his love for being around others.
