Mr. Merritt was an incredible principal. I went to St. James White Oak and, while he could be an intimidating figure to a child, he was a fair and just man. He knew every kids' name and would smile and say hello. I had to go to his office once, along with some teachers, and I left there feeling like the teachers were probably in as much trouble as I was, Lol. He was a great man who took his job seriously. I have always looked back on him as a wonderful principal. I wish I had known that he passed in time to attend the visitation. Rest in peace Mr. Merritt. You deserve all that heaven has to offer.

Dad, Youre such an amazing father, a man I always looked up to. Thank you for always taking care of our family. I would watch you with mom and how deeply in love you were with her. We always knew that a piece of you died when she passed. I take comfort in knowing that you are with her now in your forever home with our Lord and Savior. Your Catholic values and devotion to your faith have been an inspiration to each and everyone of us. I thank you and mom every day for the gift of my faith that the two of you fostered in me. You always lived by example. You were honest and straightforward, compassionate and loving, and full of wisdom. I enjoyed every single minute of every Tuesday I spent with you for the last six years. I am eternally grateful to God for the gift of two truly amazing parents. May you enjoy your eternal life together. I know I will feel you both and see signs of you in unexpected moments and places, until I see you both face-to-face in heaven someday . I love you both with all my heart, Nicki ❤❤❤

Well Dad, you made a difference in a lot of peoples lives. The stories I was told tonight were all stories of how caring you were as a human being. You and mom were so well respected and as I said Tuesday, I am so very happy you two are together again. You were the man I loved and adnired and did so even more, as we spent time together up until your last day. I love you and mom and want to thank you again for the ride.
