Marty and I were close friends in high school but lost touch after i moved. We briefly reconnected last year shortly before he passed. I wish I would have taken more time to tell him how much he meant to me. In my 31 years on this earth there have been a collection of people that i can count on two hands that have made an everlasting impression on my life. Marty was one of those people. He had an immense sense of humor, a big heart, and was incredibly wise and driven. He was an impeccable human being and there will never be any one else like him. I still can't believe he's gone. Certain things still, and will always remind me of him. He was a legend, and will never be forgotten. Love you bro.

I just found out through a mutual friend a week ago and was destroyed!! I've known Marty about 4-5 years, basically from drinking beers, but we went to ball games together, hung out with his Stepping Stones peeps together, but mainly just always laughed about life together. He was a beautiful person and will be missed. Biggest goofball I've ever known. RIP Marty, I love ya like a brother.

My deepest condolences to the family. May the assurance at Psalms 29:11 provide comfort to you at this difficult time.

I went to HS with Marty, we knew each other but not that well. Over the past couple years, though, I kept running in to him at shows and concerts, like 5 times unplanned. I would always end up seeing him ten people away, and not that I'm spiritual but there would always be a glow around him, a good vibe. The first time I said hey,he greeted me with a big hug, him and his new pony tail. Even though he didn't know me that well, he welcomed me with loving arms. Immediately smiling and talking with me, I could tell he had found the flame and was eager to share it with the rest of us. Every time after that was the same, super big smile, those knowing eyes, and that feeling that whenever you were around him it was going to be a night to remember; a moment in time that we would keep with us, and try to repeat for others. Thank you for sharing your light with us, even if only for a minute.
