My sincere condolences to the Huth family and friends. May the God who binds up the brokenhearted and comforts all who mourn sustain your family during this very difficult time.

More memories right after the war: Uncle Bill took me kite flying and carried me around on his shoulders when I was about five years old. On the day of my First Communion in 1948, at the party in the back yard of our house at English Woods, I cried because Mom said that I had to change out of my pretty white dress, threw a fit actually, felt awful about that. Uncle Bill came up stairs to encourage me to change and rejoin the backyard party. He said God loved me even when I had on an old dress.

Uncle Bill was kind with a strong faith in God even when he had just come back from experiencing the horrors of war.

My last memory of him was at his birthday party at West Park: I gave him a kiss and he made the effort to ask if he could give me a kiss. I never will forget that!

Memory from right after the war: My parents took me to Union Terminal to meet the troop train, late in evening, so crowded, high on my Dad's shoulders so I could see the train come in, cheering, hugs, kisses, guys leaning out train windows waving! At that time the train somehow entered the building, people waited on a platform and in the rotunda. And then Uncle Bill came down the steps with his big bag over his shoulder. Late night for all, especially for all the kids.

Sympathy and love to all of Uncle Bill's and Aunt Shirley's family. Cousin Barb

Mr. Huth was my science teacher when is was in junior high at Western Hills. In addition to being an excellent teacher, his humor, courtesy and strength of character served as developmental guideposts to his students.
