Jack C. Hall
Candler - Jack Conley Hall of Candler, formerly of Spruce Pine, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in Leesburg, FL.
Born on August 14, 1928 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Howard and Connie McKinney Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Sidney and James Hall; his sister; Margaret Robinson and his son; Curtis Hall.
Jack retired after thirty years of service from Carolina Power and Light; was a member of Vesper Lodge #554 A.F. & A.M. and was a Shriner. He was a former Chairman of the Buncombe County Board of Elections and also served on the Candler Fire Department Board. A veteran, he had thirty-six years combined service with the U.S. Army and the Army Reserves. He was a recipient of the Lions Club Lifetime Award, was a member of the West Asheville Baptist Church and was an active member of the Republican Party.
He was a devoted husband, loving and supportive Dad, with many close friends. He loved a good joke, bragging on his grandchildren, and Republican Victories. He will always be remembered as 'Pap Jack' by his grandchildren.
Mr. Jack Hall is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years; Virginia Hall; his son; Chuck Hall and wife, Kym; his daughter; Beverly Wright and husband, David; honorary daughter; Susan Funderburk; his brothers; William, Wayne, and Harry Hall; his sisters; Kathleen Allen, Mary Lou Howell, and Martha Williams; in-laws; Evelyn, Carlene, Wilma, and Jann Hall, and Billy Joe Robinson, Eddie Williams, and Larry Howell; sisters in law; Opal Funderburk and Maggie Buchanan, brother in law; Jerry Buchanan; four grandchildren; John, Jacqueline, Paul and Ashlynn; two step grandchildren, one great grandchild, and one step great grandchild.
The funeral service for Mr. Jack Hall will be conducted on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. Military Graveside Rites and interment will be in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to: Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 West Ferris Road, Greenville, SC 29605

I am so sorry to hear about Jack's passing. I have many fond memories of him as we worked at CP&L together for 16 years. He always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell to make me laugh. It was an honor to know him. You will be in my prayers.
