Jim and his neighbor, Phil across the street in the earlier years, would have fun joking with each other. That was when I had Ginger my English foxhound. She loved their company.
Then I had Doobie, a red tick coon hound that loved to stop by and see Jim. Jim always said:
"What a stout dog he is." Doobie just loved all the petting Jim gave. Dan it was fun to watch you protect your cat when Doobie and I would return from the convenience store. He used to walk me to my home 'with his car' while Doobie and I walked to Firwood Court. He was always friendly and generous with the Hens and Chicks for my garden. I will miss both of you when I drive by. Jim was well known in Stoneybrook and will be missed. He was a great neighbor.
The fun part is when he told me the ages of his children. They were the most important things in his life. Please let your family know how much I will miss him. My prayers are with all of you.
Jim is at peace and in the arms of angels and watching over all of us.

Dan & Family,
I was very sorry to learn of Jim's passing, although we knew it would be soon. I left for Atlanta on the 22nd to be with my kids and didn't learn Jim had passed until I saw the obituary in ACT's Sunday edition. Jim and I had been friends since I first moved to KyFields in 1994. I got to know him and Charlie Wallis and the three of us became good friends. After Charlie's passing, Jim and I became a lot closer, but as we both aged the last couple of years, we didn't share as much contact, particularly as Jim was unable to do the odd jobs, like painting, anymore.
We shared our short-term loss of memory as a joke as I would call him Pete and he'd call me George. I had just talked to him about a week before his accident, and we were talking about our aging and loss of friends, little realizing it would be the last time. I'll miss him.
Hal Campbell, KyFields
