Neill McGeachy was my hero.....When I came to Lenoir Rhyne in 1972 his all-American football picture was in the trophy case.....We all dreamed of being there one day ourselves......He was my hero at LR, he was my hero at Davidson and he was my hero at Duke......But most of all he was one heck of a man.....Neill made all of us feel like we were his best friend......He makes me so proud to be an LR Bear....
I'm gonna miss you Neill....and I'm gonna tell them the way it was!

Always go in the direction of your first fake! I remember James Brown in the locker room at half time. " Sweet Georgia Brown" music in warm ups.....

My condolences to Neill's family. I remember first seeing Neill in line at the Lenoir-Rhyne dining hall in '61-'62, his freshman year. He shifted a rubber ball from hand to hand squeezing it for finger and hand strength. He looked serious about honing his athletic skills.
