Julia (Hancock) Yarber
Black Mountain - Julia Jean (Hancock) Yarber, 83, of Black Mountain, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Elizabeth House, Hendersonville.
Born in Attala County, MS, she was the wife of the late Herschel Fred Yarber, and the daughter of the late Thomas Luther and Bessie Mae (Shannon) Hancock. She was also preceded in death by a son, Mike Fabian; 2 brothers, Charles and Sonny Hancock; and 2 sisters, Vivian Murphy and Sylvia Lott.
Julia was a US Air Force Veteran, serving from 1952 to 1954. She was employed for many years as a registered nurse until her retirement.
Julia is survived by a son, Tim Fabian (Sylvia) of Anderson, SC; 2 daughters: Kim Fabian (Eileen) of San Diego, CA and Teresa Edwards (Russell) of Fairview; a stepson, Herschel Yarber, Jr; a stepdaughter, Sandra Ragsdale; 8 grandchildren: Amy, Matthew, Marcus, Russell, Josh, Brandon, Candyce, and Tiffany; and 3 great-grandchildren: Arianna, Mattox, and McKinley.
A Memorial Service for both Julia and Herschel will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 9, 2018 at NC State Veteran's Cemetery in Black Mountain.

I am not sure what to say except I will miss you and always remember you. Even though I am 3000 miles away I often thought of you and talk to Teresa and Rusty weekly. I am glad they took great care of you 18 years along with their children
