passed away surrounded by his family on February 10, 2021. He was born in Cleveland on April 7, 1939 the eldest son of the late Virginia (nee Costa) and Carl Paul Gulla, Sr. Carl will be greatly missed by his loving, deeply adored jazz companion, Barbara Jean Sirna; son Matt (Kathy) Gulla and daughters Leah (Scot) Swaino and Ashley Gulla. He was deeply loved and will be missed by his grandchildren Taylor, Summer, Julia, Hannah and Christian. Carl is survived by his siblings Kathy Gerome, Nancy Gulla, and Tom Gulla along with sister in laws Terry Gulla and Linda Gulla. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marianne Orloff and brothers Robert and Dennis Gulla. Carl will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Due to the ongoing pandemic all services are private. Family and friends are invited to watch Carl's Mass of Christian Burial live Friday at 11 am at In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Carl may be made to The Seidman Cancer Center. So sorry to hear of Carl's passing. I considered him a very good friend and fellow musician. We both played clarinet in Latin band and later on dance bands and lover of modern jazz. Rest in peace, Carl. You will be missed. I will have a straight up Martini and listen to you playing Mozart's Clarinet Concerto. The disc he gave will be a cherished memory.
